Her enthusiasm and passion for the project led to his quick commitment to participate as her business partner. After his years of sales experience, he was confident his business background would be an asset for them both. Gutman plans to focus on the wholesale department of the artisanal gelato and develop expansion of the brand to other locations or partners.
“I love watching what Gail has created,” says Gutman. “I truly value this street in Tujunga Village and the small town feeling that’s happened with the neighborhood.” He jokes that after being handed a product with either caffeine or sugar, just about everyone leaves the shop happy and satisfied. With a life career in sales, Gutman finds it gratifying to offer a product that makes one truly proud.
Gutman and his partner Silverton were married in Italy in June 2007. In learning aspects of his new career, Joel is regularly rewarded by the accomplishment of making a good cappuccino. His favorite gelato flavors are Pistachio, Tutto Bosco and Spicy Chocolate.
